Luck of the Irish -- 166 Players
HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC (TENNIS E-News) -- The 28th annual Luck of the Irish Doubles Tournament, with 166 players in the draws, got a brisk and breezy start today at Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center, with matches certain to head well into the night, then through Saturday and Sunday.
Results will be posted as received, so check back throughout the weekend for updates.

Fripp Island Spring Championships -- 141 Players
FRIPP ISLAND SC (TENNIS E-News) -- The USTA-sanctioned even-age and rated division competition is under way in the Fripp Island Spring Clay Court Championships. With 141 players in the draws, levels playing include men's and women's singles and doubles in age and rated categories, including big draws in mixed doubles combo. Matches will continue into the evening and resume Saturday and Sunday.

TAHHI Social To Benefit Volunteers in Medicine
HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC (TENNIS E-News) -- The Tennis Association of HHI Spring
Social will be a first: a benefit social round robin, with proceeds going to the
Island's Volunteers in Medicine. Sunday, Mar. 27, is the date, and play will be
from Noon to 3 p.m. at Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center.
"We are suggesting a $5 donation for VIM per person," TAHHI
President-elect Tracy Sklarin said. Lunch will be served from Larry's Giant Subs
(ham or turkey). Members can register online at
www.TAHHI.org under events. When doing so, be sure to enter your USTA

CHARLESTON SC – World No. 11 Shahar Peer has officially
entered the 2011 Family Circle Cup. Peer, whose world ranking is the best ever for a player from Israel, joins World No. 5 and defending champion
Samantha Stosur, Jelena Jankovic, Maria Sharapova, Daniela Hantuchova and
Melanie Oudin in the player field for the
tournament’s 39th consecutive year. FCC will be played Apr.
2-10, 2011 at the Family Circle Tennis Center on Daniel Island.
Throughout her 8-year WTA career, Peer has notched five singles titles, 309
singles victories, over $3.7 million in prize money, and posted three Top 20
seasons. She has also competed on the Israeli Fed Cup Team from 2002-2009 and
2011, and her nation’s Olympic Team in 2008.
