USTA League Site

4 "Discovered" Tennis Courts  at Beaufort Yacht Takes Area Total to 509

BEAUFORT SC (TENNIS E-News) -- The USTA League has added four courts to the already burgeoning numbers that give the area one of the highest concentration of tennis courts in the world. Oh, why pussyfoot? We have more tennis courts concentrated in such an area than anywhere in the world until someone proves otherwise.

The four hard courts of Beaufort Yacht & Sailing Club will be a home base for USTA League play this Spring. That brings the total to 509 courts -- public, private, school, etc. -- listed in a census started during the last century by Tennisaction Hilton Head Island. The census is now maintained by TENNIS E-News and is updated whenever notified of changes. The complete chart with courts categorized by public/private, hard/clay, lighted/not lighted can be obtained by request to banana@hargray.com.
