Mixed Doubles League

Y Knots Win Adult Team Tennis Championship

HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC (TENNIS E-News) -- South Carolina Yacht Clubs Y Knots wrapped up the Fall/Winter season district championship of Hilton Head Island Adult Team Tennis with a 49-game spread over second place Wexford Net Crashers. The all-mixed-doubles format standings are determined by the accumulated total games won throughout the season.

The Y Knots won all five courts in the final match over Long Cove Pirates Saturday that clinched the title. This year's season was set to end with the final dual-match standings rather than a year-end District Championship tournament as in previous years.

Senior 3.0s Jumpstart
USTA League Spring Season Under Way, and Already It's a Whether Condition
HILTON HEAD ISLAND SC (TENNIS E-News) -- Sun City, Habersham and Callawassie showed everyone how to get a season off on the right foot, sneaking in the first matches of the area USTA League Spring season. The Coastal Carolina Senior 3.0s got a jumpstart on the weather that has been shutting down tennis play for weeks. Matches had been scheduled for today, while other divisions are looking forward to sunshine for Thursday and this weekend openers.

It was the Sun City Tennis Ball Busters, Callawassie No-see-ums and Habersham Half Volley's (pity the poor misused apostrophe) leading with first-day victories. The Senior Men will wrap up their season in late April in time for the South Carolina Senior State Championships that will be played once again on Hilton Head Island -- May 14-16. The Tennis Association of HHI will get its season going later this week in some divisions, with TAHHI and CCTA getting into full swing by the first weekend in February.

For any questions on TAHHI league play, see the Level Coordinators chart below.
